Ce que les stagiaires ont dit de nous
After a degree in Tourism in France, I decided to go abroad in order to get more experience in the tourism industry. I chose myguideIreland and I am not disappointed!
Working here is a great chance to gain experience in a lot of different fields. I am currently employed by the Product Department but I also learn a lot of things concerning marketing. You may also have a chance to learn how to use handy software like Photoshop, Dreamweaver and others. Of course, you will improve your language skills as well thanks to a welcoming team.
Apart from work, living in Ireland will provide you with beautiful landscapes and amazing places you could discover each week-end with the other interns!
Hey, I am Christian and currently working for the Marketing/IT department at myguideTravel. myguideTravel gives you a great opportunity to gain work experience and in addition you can improve your language skills. When you are working for the Marketing/IT department you can expect to be involved in the monthly newsletter campaign as well as in daily business issues. Knowledge in web programming e.g. HTML, XHTML, PHP, CSS etc would be an advantage, because you have a lot to do with websites of myguideTravel. Furthermore you have the chance to work with differnet programmes such as Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver etc. As I mentioned above, you gain a lot of work experience. The staff or perhaps your future colleagues are very friendly and support you wherever they can. Personally I enjoyed the "social events", where you get in touch with all your colleagues and have fun together. Finally I have to say it was a great internship and I can highly recommend it.
My name is Magdalena Kleer and I am from Austria. Currently I am doing my six-month Internship with myguideIreland. The webbased travel agency is located in Skibbereen, Co Cork and operates in many different markets. I am working for the Irish market and the products department. I have different duties such as answering enquiries, checking availability with different self-catering-, Bed and Breakfast- or hotel suppliers, updating the rates database as well as updating the websites. The working environment within the company is very good and my colleagues are friendly, patient and helpful. Interns become integrated into different work processes and get the opportunity to gain useful practical experience.
Every intern of myguideIreland gets free accommodation in a lovely and spacious house which is within walking distance to the office and the town centre. My internship is almost over and I will miss the work and my colleagues for sure. I can recommend doing an internship with myguideIreland because not many companies look after their interns as well as myguideIreland does.
My name is Nadine Schmidt. I am studying Tourism Management in Germany and currently I am doing a 6-month Internship at myguideIreland. Working for myguideIreland is a great opportunity to look into the tour-operator sector. I am working for the German Market where I am answering enquiries, attending to the guests, booking B&Bs, translating texts for the German website and putting together travel-document packages. In addition I support the products department by updating rates or properties and help out in other markets wherever help is needed. Therefore my duties are very diversified.
Every month the social committee of myguideIreland organizes social events such as quad biking, visiting a comedy club in Cork, playing soccer or kayaking etc. So your colleagues from work are not just co-workers but become friends. Overall I have gained a lot of work experience and intercultural experience here and really enjoyed my time as an intern at myguideIreland.
