Job Description for myguideIreland Sales Agent
Job Title: Sales Agent
Language: French /English - fluent in both written and spoken. Relevant to the markets you will be selling to.
Purpose of the Job: To sell holidays to Ireland to guests from our seven primary markets: France, USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, UK, Ireland and any other markets that contact us.
Responsible to: Julie CEBRON, French Market Manager & Joan O Connell, Travel Manager
Hours of Work: 5 days/40 hours per week. Shift work including day and night working hours, weekends and bank holidays.
Skills:
- Excellent selling skills, with strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility with the ability to work well in a team environment and on their own initiative.
- Customer needs awareness.
- Excellent knowledge of Ireland, Tour Operating/Travel/Tourism background an advantage.
- CSR system experience desirable.
- Good working knowledge of internet/e-mail.
Tasks:
- Collecting and sorting new guest enquiries primarily from your designated market but also from all other markets.
- Contacting all guests by phone (when possible) before answering their enquiry.
- Answering/quoting all guest enquiries comprehensively, correctly and within the guaranteed response time of 24 hours.
- Represent the company at the first point of contact for our guests in a professional and efficient manner.
- Be welcoming to all guests who contact us either by enquiry form or by phone.
- Dealing with all aspects of the guest enquiry, processing reservations (flights, ferries, car hire, accommodation, activities group bookings etc).
- Take correct payment for all holidays booked as per our deposit/payment policy.
- Prepare, package and forward all travel documents to our guests.
- Assist your guest with any issues/problems that arise while they are travelling.
- Follow up with Welcome Home e-mails to all guests when they return home from their vacation.
- Report all guest complaints to the Market manager who will assist you in dealing with them or any difficulties that may arise in the course of the working day.
- Operate our “Buddy System” when requesting assistance from other Sales Agents Assist other members of the team, especially those in training, when the need arises.
- Achieve sales targets set.
- Keep up to date with new products/policy changes etc.
- Monitoring the sale of different products and advising Product Manager of products that are not selling and of new products or services that guests may be seeking.
- Following all company procedures and policies, ensuring that all guests are given correct information, the quality service that myguideIreland pride themselves on and are dealt with in an appropriate manner at all times.
Occasional Duties:
- Representing myguideIreland at Trade Fares abroad.
- Assisting in the training of new sales consultants.
- Participating in Familiarisation Trips
Training Provided:
- Website/product familiarisation, guest database, customer service, telesales procedures, CRS system.
- Any other training that may be necessary in order to fulfil the requirements of the position.
Other:
- The staff member will report to and receive their daily duties each day directly from the Market Manager.
- In the absence of the Market manager the agent will deal with and take direction from the Senior Sales Agent or the Travel Manager.
